Individual therapy involves one-on-one time between you and your therapist in a safe environment that provides a chance for connection. During your individual sessions, you can expect to be able to share information with your therapist in a non-judgmental space and a spot where you can safely be yourself. Your one-on-one sessions with your therapist might include time spent discussing the challenges you have experienced and the goals you would like to accomplish. Individual therapy can be helpful in overcoming obstacles in your life and can increase positive feelings including self-esteem. During the times spent with your therapist, typically over several sessions, you will learn skills for managing difficult situations, how to make healthy decisions, and determining the steps you need to take to reach your goals.

Family therapy can be an essential element to addressing challenges that you or a member of your family is experiencing. Often the challenges that we face not only affect us as an individual, but also impact the family system as a whole. Family therapy can provide a safe space to communicate about challenging topics with guidance from your therapist.
Group therapy is a great way to connect with a small group of individuals who are experiencing similar challenges. Participating in group therapy allows you to not only connect with the therapist facilitating the group, but also other participants who have had similar life experiences. Group therapy can be a wonderful way to feel connected to others while also learning from others’ experiences. Groups are offered based off the needs of our current clientele. If you are interested in attending a group, please let us know in your interest form.
Relationships are hard work and need consistent attention and feedback to ensure that any challenges experienced in the relationship are addressed before they turn into significant problems. Couples therapy can be a great way to increase your communication with your significant other and gain insight into your relational patterns. Couples therapy requires active participation from both members of the relationship and involves the use of a therapist to address the challenges the relationship as a whole is experiencing. Any kind of relationship has the opportunity to benefit from an increase in knowledge of relational patterns, conflict resolution skills and emotional expression that are typical outcomes of couples therapy.
Crisis Consultation can be helpful if you are experiencing significant emotional distress without actually being in a physically dangerous situation.* A Crisis Consultation is typically booked within 3 hours of your appointment time but without guaranteeing that you will be able to meet with your primary Spot to Talk therapist. We cannot always guarantee the availability of these sessions, and recommend that if you are concerned about harming yourself or someone else, or if you are feeling unsafe in your environment, to please call 911 or visit your local emergency room. If the mental health crisis you are experiencing is not dangerous, but you wish to speak with a Spot to Talk therapist as soon as possible, please request a Crisis Consultation Appointment by calling 619-438-0690.
